Shalom!

I am Maayane and I joined Bar Ilan University  as a faculty member in October 2021.

I graduated from the Ecole Normale Superieure (France), and took part in several research projects in the BIPAC institute at University of Oxford (UK), the Alcator C-mod project at MIT (Massachussetts, USA), and the seismology group at the Midi-Pyrenees Observatory (France). I completed a PhD at University College London (UCL), a postdoc in the experimental astrophysics group  of the Weizmann Institute of Science  and a second postdoc at the Computational Research Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, where I am currently a research affiliate.

The Observational (Experimental) Astrophysics group is hiring!

Starting in October 2021, I hope to build a dynamic and vibrant Observational (i.e. Experimental) Astrophysics group at Bar-Ilan University. If you are interested in transient astrophysical phenomena, wish to participate in cutting-edge international telescope collaborations and in the Israeli-led ULTRASAT satellite, and if you love challenges, real (BIG) data, and have some knowledge in programming, be in touch!
